MEDi2008 Conference

MEDi 2008, the conference and exhibition for the medical device industry, was held on September 9 & 10 at the Connecticut Convention Center. By all accounts it was a success attracting 900+ registrants and 81 exhibitors from all over the country and abroad! The Keynote Address was delivered by Dr. David K. Rosen, Executive Director of Worldwide Business Development for Pfizer, who emphasized the growing interrelationship between pharmaceuticals and the medical device industry, (e.g. drug delivery devices, medical imaging systems for improved diagnostics, and bioinformatics for data mining.) At the end of his presentation, he announced Pfizer’s continued support of BEACON and MEDi by committing Pfizer to a major sponsorship for 2009.

Connecticut Governor M. Jodi Rell visited MEDi 2008 and met with various exhibitors from several states on the show floor to spread the message of the State of Connecticut’s commitment to supporting growth in the medical device industry.
